”We have decided after 14 triumphant years to hang up our microphones and call it a day,” host Mark Johnson says in the latest episode of the Ubuntu Podcast.
However, there are still a few more episodes likely to come out before the end of the show as the final show is slated to be released on September 30th, 2021.
Johnson explained that while it was not an easy decision to end the podcast, it was time. He stated "We’ve all changed jobs in that time. We all had big personal changes in our circumstances in that time – especially over the past 2 years. All of that has made continuing the podcast […] a bit of a challenge.”
Johnson continued on to say that “Rather than letting it wither on the vine we’re gonna go out with a bang, leaving people wanting more, and knock it on the head.”
Alas, while losing the Ubuntu Podcast will surely be felt across the Linux podcast scene there are plenty of worthy shows to fill the void. Linux focused shows like Linux Unplugged, Linux Action News, Late Night Linux, and This Week In Linux are released regularly to keep you company. If you're looking for Linux-related shows, try out the Self-Hosted show or Gaming on Linux.
